Rocada’s commitment to sustainability

You don’t need to know us very well to know that our commitment to sustainability is firm and is visible both in the materials we use and in our manufacturing processes. However, given the current situation, at Rocada we believe that we have to act, both as individuals and as a company, with the integrated precept that it is never enough. For this reason, some time ago we decided to go a step further in our desire to reduce our carbon footprint and we installed 453 solar panels (1,200 m²) at our Taradell facilities. 

Details of the solar project in Taradell

• Generation Capacity: The installed solar panels will generate almost 325,000 kWh per year of energy. This energy production is sufficient to cover a huge part of the energy needs of our facilities.
• Energy Savings: According to our calculations, this installation will save 70% of the current consumption. This saving translates into a significant reduction in energy costs, increasing the operational efficiency of the factory.
• Reduction of Emissions: With this project, we will annually avoid the emission of 300 tonnes of CO₂, making an important contribution to the fight against climate change.

An initiative that makes a difference

The installation, which was carried out during the second quarter of 2023, will enable us to become fully energy self-sufficient in the near future. And this project is just one more step in the company’s orientation towards a model of greater environmental and social sustainability. Rocada works in the international market, in countries such as Germany, the United Kingdom and Japan: the decision to reorient production, in such a way that the product life cycle and eco-design play a key role, will cross many borders.
